Tandoori chicken home made without Tandoor ovens!

Ingredients

  • 4-6 chicken legs skin removed and chopped in two
  • 8 oz pot of plain runny yoghurt
  • small cup of stock
  • juice of one lemon or lime or half of each
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 15g of paprika
  • 15g of garam masala
  • half teaspoon ginger
  • half teaspoon ground cumin
  • half a teaspoon of chilli powder
  • salt & black pepper to season

Method

  1. score the chicken flesh with a sharp knife
  2. mix all ingredients except cup of stock with the chicken pieces and add mixture to slow cooker
  3. add cup of stock and cook on low for 4-6 hours, remove chicken legs
  4. boil liquid until sauce is reduced by half, season with Black pepper & salt and pour all over chicken
  5. place chicken under hot grill for few minutes then serve with Naan bread, mango chutney and Palau rice
