Spicy meatballs


  • 700g lean minced beef
  • 1 large clove of garlic crushed in a little salt
  • 5g ground cumin
  • 5g coriander
  • 15g nutmeg
  • 15g chilli powder
  • 15g ground cloves
  • salt and ground black pepper


  1. Mix mincemeat and all spices together with 1 large or two small eggs
  2. For the Turkish/Greek Kofte example, mix 75mls of water with 100mls of creamy white plain yoghurt, coat meatballs and roast for 20-30 minutes in a medium hot oven
  3. Or roast without yoghurt and treat as spicy meatballs!
